Classwork from my Drawing Fundamental 1 & 2 course using charcoal and pastels. In Drawing Fundamentals 1 we learn to draw from observation. Adapting and building on that knowledge in Drawing Fundamentals 2 we learn Figure Drawing but utilizing gestures and measuring proportions. Like my skull and self portrait drawings, measuring and gesturing played a massive role in ensuring the proportions stay realistic except now done with a live model. In these cases drawing to the correct proportions are especially important in order to capture the limits of the entire body.
